Family Support Program

The Family Support Program is located at the Winton Neighbourhood Centre, situated at 75 Elderslie Street.

The Family Support Program acknowledges the critical role that social and human resources play in fostering sustainability in rural communities. This initiative allows the Winton Family Support Officer to be available to both rural and town residents, guaranteeing that all individuals have the chance to take advantage of the services offered.

The primary focus of the program is on families with children aged 0-18 who are experiencing vulnerable circumstances. The service aims to enhance the ability of families to navigate the challenges they encounter throughout various stages of life while promoting the safety and well-being of children and adolescents.

 

The service includes:

  • Improving parenting skills
  • Improve family and household management skills
  • Provide practical assistance to allow families to care for their children
  • Provide information, advice and referrals to families to enhance a quality standard of care
  • Strengthen the local community and improve the lifestyle for Shire residents
  • Improve awareness of the availability of community support services to families, young people and children

  • Community education and development
  • Support with budgeting
  • Supporting families to adopt daily routines
