Recreational Facilities

Sports, Leisure and Recreation

Winton boasts a number of sports facilities. There is a 9 hole golf course, squash courts, tennis courts and a lawn bowls club. All of which hold regular events and are open to residents and visitors alike. The new pitch at the Eric Lenton Memorial Sports and Recreational Grounds is the home of the 'Diamantina Devils' Winton senior and junior rugby league football clubs. The State School's undercover sports hall is ideal for indoor cricket, netball or basketball. There are the showgrounds and rodeo yards, and the Pony Club operates for young and old riders.

Winton's swimming pool has undergone a complete makeover. The new aquatic centre boasts 3 separate pools to satisfy all members of the family. Public sessions, swimming lessons, aqua aerobics and the 'Buccaneer Inflatable' should all make a welcome relief from the summer heat. Try out the new water park with slides and sprayers that are sure to be fun for the whole family.

Winton's Skate Park opened in 2001. The park is free to use anytime for boards, blades and bikes.
